I was born and raised in Chicago, and moved to South Carolina to attend the the College of Charleston. After graduating, I began my career as a fourth grade English and language arts teacher and progressed to become a STEM teacher and curriculum developer.
I am an accomplished STEM and Technology Teacher with 4 years of academic instruction focused on technology use and application. Additionally, I expertise in developing and implementing comprehensive curriculum using research based methodologies and innovative technology. I am a personable communicator with proven ability to deliver engaging lessons to target learning objectives and prepare learners for success.
I was born and raised in a rural town in South Carolina called Bamberg and attended the College of Charleston where I majored in Elementary Education.. After graduating, I began my teaching career of teaching fourth grade all subjects in Berkeley County. I have continue this position and I will be beginning my fifth year teaching fourth grade for this upcoming 2021-2022 school year.
Through this profession, I have loved learning about new ways to incorporate and implement technology to enhance my students' learning experiences. Through the Masters of Education in Instructional Technology, I have gained knowledge in the many ways to effectively integrate technology within my teaching. I hope to continue to grow as a teaching, creating meaningful learning experiences for my students while utilizing technology.
After growing up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and attending the University of Pittsburgh, I pursued my Secondary Education degree and moved to South Carolina to teach middle school ELA. Over the last two years, I taught all levels of ELA, including Grade Level, Honors, and Accelerated.
Although I am an English teacher, I love to use technology to enhance my instruction and engage students. Upon graduating in December with a Masters of Education in Instructional Technology, I will continue to utilize the strategies I learned in my physical classroom. Upon the completion of my third year teaching, I will begin pursuing opportunities outside the middle school ELA classroom.
