Collaboration Benefits
This module focuses on the features in Google Drive that allows for user collaboration. Based upon your knowledge of the many ways to enable sharing files through Google Drive, what are three benefits of adding collaborators to your files? How can this enhance your classroom experience?

 Assignment 3: Create a Collaborative File  
Outcomes

After completing this assignment, students will be able to:
  • Manipulate files on Google Drive to be in view, edited, or copied by other Google collaborators

Instructions
  1. Create a Google Doc in your Google Drive and answer the following question: Explain three examples in which users could utilizes Google Drive collaborative features.
  2. Once you have answered the question, you will need to three users as collaborators (Please use the your classmates’ Gmail addresses that are posted in Google Classroom)
    1. One of your classmates as a Viewer
    2. One of your classmates as a Commenter
    3. Your instructor (thomaselsa@bcsdschools.net) as an Editor
Note: If you are added as a commenter on one of your fellow classmates’ files, feel free to make any comments.

Submitting
To submit your assignment to your instructor, provide screenshot evidence of the Collaborative window. (See below for an example)
Note: I will also be able to check your assigned permissions as an Editor on your document.

Make sure to complete Assignment 3 prior to the end of the day you complete Module 2.

Grading
Grades on this assignment will be based on the following checklist. Read it carefully to get a sense of the instructor’s specific expectations.
  1. Answer the posed question in paragraph form on a Google Doc
  2. Add a collaborator as a Viewer
  3. Add a collaborator as a Comments
  4. Add your instructor as an Editor
  5. Submit as screenshot of the Sharing Window 

Assignment 4: Organize a Google Event 
Outcomes
After completing this assignment, students will be able to:
  • Schedule a Google Event (Google Meets Meeting)
  • Invite classmates to a Meeting Time
 
Instructions
  1. Create a Meeting in Google Calendar
  2. Title the meeting lastname.firstinition (ex: Thomas.E)
  3. Invite three guests, one of which being your instructor (thomaselsa@bcsdschools.net)  (Please use the your classmates’ Gmail addresses that are posted in Google Classroom)
  4. Add video conferencing 
  5. Notify guests by sending an email
 
Submitting

To submit your assignment to your instructor provide the Google Meets link that was automatically given when the event was created. Make sure it is a clickable link in the submissions box.
 
Make sure to complete Assignment 4 prior to the end of the day you complete Module 2.
